    近年來，隨著鎂產業應用領域的拓寬，輕燒鎂球產品已不再簡單地應用于高溫爐窯，而是廣泛應用于建材、化工、汽車、航空航天、醫藥等領域，鎂化工、鎂建材、鎂合金產業發展迅速。有“中國鎂都”之稱的資源型城市大石橋，調整鎂產業發展思路，不再圍繞原材料打轉，果斷結束“高耗能、高污染;出大力、掙小錢”的歷史。一方面轉變經濟發展方式，加強企業內部創新能力建設，實現鎂資源的高效合理利用;一方面優化鎂行業產業結構，進軍鎂質非耐材領域，以鎂合金、鎂化工等高端制品參與全球競爭。

    為了促進鎂產業的持續健康發展，大石橋市對礦山、原材料、制成品進行了全面升級改造。對產量低、規模小、高能耗、污染大的礦山企業通過兼并、收購等方式進行整合，菱鎂礦山企業由1995年的96家減少到目前的20家;陸續扒掉了不能確保污染物達標排放的83座輕燒鎂窯、19臺電熔鎂爐、27座重燒鎂窯，關閉了950座漏窯，對61家、84臺雷蒙粉碎系統和116家、236臺鎂砂破粉系統污染設施進行了專項整治。

    與此同時，大石橋市堅持以質取勝的發展戰略，在保持鎂質材料國際市場占有份額的基礎上，下力氣調整出口產品結構，產品遠銷世界95個國家和地區。

    據了解，大石橋市已開發生產的鎂質材料產品列入國家和省級科技計劃58項，高新技術鎂質制品種類和產量居全國之首。

In order to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the magnesium industry, Dashiqiao City has comprehensively upgraded its mines, raw materials and manufactured products. Integration of low-yield, small-scale, high-energy-consumption, and large-pollution mining enterprises through mergers and acquisitions.
